Treeguards are monsters from Klei Entertainment's Don't Starve game and its expansions.
These entities come in three unique varieties: Regular, Lumpy or Palm. These beings were either transformed through magical energies, or evolved naturally as a method of camouflage. As previously mentioned, they are of an arboreal appearance. They will wait for a player to hit one whilst clearing forest, mistaking it for a tree, whereupon it will attack with the intent of killing the player, although they will also engage any nearby hostile creatures. They have the same growth rates as normal trees; however, they will gain greater strength and durability as they mature. It should be noted that Treeguard are particularly susceptible to fire damage.
