Pinsir is a Bug-type Pokémon that resembles a stag beetle. It was first catalogued in Kanto as No. 127 in the National Pokédex.

Pinsir is a bipedal insectoid Pokémon covered in brown chitinous plates. It has triangular white eyes, thin, segmented arms ending in three-clawed hands and oval-shaped legs with two front claws and a single back claw each. It has a large, horizontal mouth filled with long, flat teeth. On top of its head are two white horns covered in barbs which can be used to constrict and crush objects.
Pinsir's horns are incredibly strong and have a near-unbreakable grip. It uses these appendages to capture prey and crush the life out of it before feeding. The grip of Pinsir's horns is so strong that it can snap through trees and crush boulders. It uses these horns to great effect in battle by grabbing, throwing, bludgeoning or goring its foes.
Abilities[]
- Vise Grip - Pinsir grasps an opponent between its horns and steadily crushes the life out of them.
- Harden - Pinsir increases the density of its chitinous skin, increasing its resistance to physical blows.
- Storm Throw - After grabbing an opponent with its horns, Pinsir throws the enemy across the ground.
- Seismic Toss - After grabbing the opponent, Pinsir launches itself high into the air and comes crashing back down, slamming the opponent into the ground with earth-shaking force.
- Focus Energy - Pinsir pours all of its concentration into its next attack, ensuring a critical strike.
- Swords Dance - Pinsir performs a combative dance to increase its attack power.
- X-Scissor - Pinsir charges the enemy and slashes them with its barbed horns.
- Guillotine - A devastating one-hit KO move in which Pinsir grabs the enemy with its horns and crushes the life out of them with one powerful squeeze.
Mega Evolution[]
Pinsir can be transformed into Mega Pinsir using the Mega Stone Pinsirite. In its Mega form, its chitinous skin hardens and its back opens up to reveal a set of insectoid wings, allowing it to fly. It also develops bladed fins on its forearms, its eyes turn yellow and its legs turn into strange pods with the claws straightening into spikes. Pinsir's horns also lengthen and become harder, with longer spikes but a smaller number of them.
The Mega Evolution is temporary and only occurs during battle if the Trainer is carrying a Mega Ring and the Pinsir holds the corresponding Mega Stone.
