Parasprites are creatures appearing in the popular animated series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Their names orginate from the words parasite and sprite.
Appearance[]
Parasprites are small, spherical creatures roughly the size of a baseball. They come in a variety of different colours, have huge, jade-coloured compound eyes, four tiny legs and a set of insectoid wings.
Behavior[]
Parasprites appear to be insatiable insects that consume anything and everything edible within sight. They are known to consume entire crops and harvests, causing famine.
Parasprites are capable of asexual reproduction. After eating, a parasprite will cough up another parasprite from its mouth like a cat coughing up a hairball, causing swarms to quickly form. If left unchecked, swarms can infest areas and devour any and all food they encounter.
Weaknesses[]
The only way to get rid of a parasprite infestation is to lure the swarm away using catchy music, similar to the Pied Piper. Pinkie Pie demonstrated this by gathering up musical instruments around Ponyville and playing them all simultaneously as a one-pony band. Her music lured the parasprite swarm away from Ponyville and towards the Everfree Forest. It is unknown if there is a way to kill one.
