A Manticore

A manticore is a beast with the head of a man, the body of a lion, the tail of a scorpion and (in some versions) the wings of a dragon. The venom from it's tail is so powerful, it is said to be able to destroy one's soul. A manticore is a creature of Greek mythology that originated in Persia, where its name meant man-eater. Its tail is not always a scorpion's; sometimes it is a dragon's tail with spikes on the end. In all descriptions it can launch spikes containing its venom and eats flesh.

Another version of a manticore is a Blood thirsty tiger with a mans head and three rows of teeth.It is know thought to originate from a exaggeration of a tiger.
