The Isonade is a sea monster from Japanese mythology. It often appears together with another sea creature, related to Japanese mythology, namely the Samehada.

Dislocation[]

The Isonade lives between the deep waters of western Japan and the waters of eastern China, more precisely around the coast of Matsuura and the island of Kyūshū. When this creature appears, strong winds form on the water.

Features[]

The Isonade has never been seen, as it hides under the waves, but it is said to be a great blue shark with three tails, three dorsal fins and with a sharp horn at the top of the head. It re-emerges to the surface once a month to regain air.
