Marlboros (also known as Morbol, Oscar, and Xylomid) are grotesque plant-based monsters from the Final Fantasy series. Appearing as early as Final Fantasy II, these disgusting monsters have featured in several games since and remain one of the franchise's more difficult and annoying threats.
Various subspecies of Marlboro have appeared throught the FF series, though they do not differ much in appearance. They look like huge, swollen plant pods with enormous, gaping mouths filled with sharp teeth. Their bodies are covered with vine-like tentacles (the top tentacles end in eyes) and their main method of attack is to expell toxic fumes from their mouths to poison enemies. The Bad Breath attack inflicts multiple negative stat effects on party members, leaving them at a severe disadvantage if they are ill-equipped to counter such effects.
