Drahmin was originally a human who committed many foul crimes before his death. When his soul was cast into the infernal pits of the Netherrealm as punishment for his sins, the suffering he endured forged him into a ferocious oni. For centuries, Drahmin and fellow oni Moloch have preyed upon other inhabitants of the Netherrealm, inflicting horrible torment upon any who cross their path.
Prior to the events of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Drahmin and Moloch allied themselves with the necromancer Quan Chi. In exchange for protecting him from the vengeful revenant Scorpion, Quan Chi promised to help the two oni escape from the Netherrealm so that they could wreak havoc upon the realms of the living. Drahmin led Quan Chi to an ancient structure believed to be a gateway to other realms, and the sorcerer discovered that the portal could be activated by the Amulet of Shinnok, which Quan Chi had in his possession. However, when the sorcerer fled to Outworld, he left the demons behind.
Drahmin and Moloch attempted to follow Quan Chi to Outworld through the same portal he had used, but arrived in another part of the expansive realm. They would encounter the sorcerer Shang Tsung who employed them to protect him, expecting treachery from the necromancer following their recent alliance. In exchange for the demons' services, Shang Tsung paid Moloch and Drahmin with mortal flesh to feast upon as well as the promise of revenge against Quan Chi.
As the two oni awaited their opportunity, they once again encountered Scorpion when he infiltrated Shang Tsung's palace. Moloch and Drahmin ambushed Scorpion and threw him into the Soulnado in the centre of the palace, leaving him to be ripped apart.
Drahmin's opportunity for vengeance against Quan Chi would never come as he found himself plunging back into the Netherrealm when Shang Tsung's palace was destroyed by Onaga.
