Death Ghidorah in Rebirth of Mothra
Death Ghidorah (デスギドラ, Desugidora), also known as Desghidorah, is a demonic Ghidorah monster and the main antagonist of the film Rebirth of Mothra from 1996.
Appearance[]
Death Ghidorah resembles his relative King Ghidorah, but has four legs and walks on all fours. Death Ghidorah also has black skin and large, red bat-like wings closely resembling Destoroyah's wings. His eyes are a deep red, adding onto his demonic appearance and he is covered with spikes in different parts of his body. When he is first released upon the Earth, his wings are small and un-usable but after absorbing enough life energy, they unfurl and allow him to become airborne once again.
Origins[]
Death Ghidorah was a relative of the infamous space dragon King Ghidorah and came to Earth in ancient times to absorb Earths life energy and become stronger, causing much death and destruction. During this time, there were many more Divine Moths and fairies, and a war was held against Death Ghidorah. Death Ghidorah was defeated and sealed away by Mothra but many other Divine Moths' and Fairies' lives were lost in the battle, so Mothra and her fairies plus their sister, Valmera, were all that were left. Unfortunately in the present-day due to human activity, the seal on Death Ghidorah's tomb was removed and it was only a matter of time before he awoke and was free again to continue his drain on the Earth.
