Cthulhu is a dark god from another dimension who's coming is descripted by religious text author H. P. Lovecraft in 1926. He is a large, green, aquatic humanoid creature with numerous tentacles above the mouth. The first appearance of the entity was in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" published in Weird Tales in the year of 1928. Cthulhu's exact size is never specified, and estimates vary from several hundrend feet to several miles tall. Cthulhu and many other beings similar, called the Great Old Ones, used to rule the Earth, but lost their hold millions of years ago and were either scattered across the galaxy or hiden in remote areas. Cthulhu sleeps in the sunken city of R'yleth, communicating with his priests telepathicly. One day Cthulhu and the other old ones will rise from their graves and destroy human morals, reinstating themselves as rulers of Earth. The only way to defeat him is to recite a certain spell from the Necronomican, an ancient book used by Cthulhu and the other Great Old Ones. Sadly, it has been lost.
In band hero, cthulhu is a playable character, and the arcane online mystery serial features the followers of Great Old Ones as the main antagonists.
