Aqua Pirates are a type of Space Pirate encountered by Samus Aran on Tallon IV during the events of Metroid Prime. Encountered in the waters surrounding the crash site of the Pirate frigate Orpheon, these Pirates were equipped with armour based on Gravity Suit technology and outfitted with aqua-jet packs. These packs carry multi-missile launchers adapted for underwater use.
Aqua Pirates behave in a similar manner to Flying Pirates, including their tendency to launch kamikaze attacks when near death. Their packs' exhaust leaves a distinct heat signature that makes them easy to target using the Thermal Visor. They are most vulnerable to the Ice Beam and can quickly be shattered with missiles after being frozen.
